Creating Rituals For Your Future Self
How was your week? Do anything fun? Take any risks? Laugh until your belly hurt?
Tell me everything!
I’ve been obsessed with cooking this week because of this book.
(If you saw the burger that Zak made for me on my IG stories this week, it came from here!)
Every recipe I’ve made has made my belly do the happy dance and they’re all SO easy! You can preorder a copy here!
We also dove into another murder mystery this week. I swear we’re obsessed!
It’s so much more fun than just zoning out in front of the TV, something we rarely do except for our pizza and a movie night on Fridays.
Plus, it’s been great for Rain to develop her problem-solving skills (and mine too!)
We have so much fun with these! This is the one we’re playing now!
Speaking of our infamous “Pizza and a Movie” night, rituals are key to shaping the Identity of your Future Self.
They’re key to becoming SELF Made.
You see, in the ever-evolving narrative of our lives, rituals serve as the markers, the guiding stars that help us craft our identities.
They are the deliberate acts, the intentional choices that pave the way for the person we want to become.
So, today we’ll explore the profound impact of rituals, how they can shape our future selves, and why they are the compass in our identity journey.
You can use them to become SELF Made without feeling like every day is a struggle. (because seriously, who wants that?!)
Ready to get your ritual on?
Let’s do this!
A RITUAL FOR SELF COACHING
Picture this: You wake up, the sun is gently streaming through your window. You stretch, slide out of bed, and you begin your day with a sense of purpose. A smile can’t help but cross your face.
Maybe you hop in the shower, head to the gym, meditate in your living room, or journal curled up in a cozy corner.
You feel intentional and ready for whatever life throws at you.
THIS is the magic of morning rituals.
They set the tone for your day and ground you in showing up and making decisions from the future instead of the present or heaven forbid, the past.
(I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… your past is creating your present and if you don’t love the pants off your present, you have to start operating from your FUTURE. Hence… embracing your Future Self now.)
I am currently obsessed with my morning ritual.
I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago and asked if you wanted it. You said YES so, I’m gifting it to you today! *cue the confetti* (confession: I have a confetti obsession. IDK why but I am a bit of a weirdo so maybe that?)

Keep in mind, this is what works for ME. You do you! Create a ritual that sets YOU up to embrace your Future Self today!
HOW TO CREATE A RITUAL FOR SELF CARE
In the realm of self care, rituals become your sanctuary.
I like that word… “sanctuary”.
Do you have a sanctuary? A place you go to for comfort? Peace? To be soothed?
One of my sanctuaries (Yes, I have more than one. I take that shit seriously! ) is in a corner of my office.
I have my vision board there, a candle, a cozy chair, a fuzzy blanket, meaningful artwork, and books I’m reading. It’s where I do my morning rituals.
My second sanctuary is my bed. I loveeee my bed.
It’s the safe space I land when I need to rest and show mySELF some compassion.
It is where I’m gentle with mySELF. It really is where I exhale and let go.
Here’s the thing… as you’re embracing the Identity of your Future Self, you are not always gonna get it right.
You will have the best intentions and then turn around and fuck them up. I know because I do it too.
That’s where the SELF compassion comes in.
You want to be gentle with yourSELF. Create rituals that remind you of who you are and allow you to embrace the person you’re evolving into with love.
To create your SELF Made sanctuary, start by choosing a space that makes you feel something, whether it’s a room, a corner of a room, or even an outdoor spot.
Clear the area of clutter and distractions, and add elements that bring you comfort and peace.
This could include soft lighting, calming colors, comfortable seating, plants, and meaningful décor such as photographs or artwork. Make sure it’s a space where you feel safe and relaxed.
Then, use your sanctuary in a daily ritual.
You can do your morning ritual there like I do or use it to journal or just go there to have some thinking time. The choice, as always, is yours!
SELF MADE SUCCESS RITUALS
As you set your Future Self up for success, knowledge becomes your greatest ally.
Creating rituals where you learn and grow are so important. I love learning with all of my heart. Maybe that’s why I like teaching so much too.
Those moments when you open books that feed your mind, listen to podcasts that expand your horizons, or engage in learning experiences that align with the person you aspire to become are like none other.
These rituals are not just about soaking up information. They’re about nurturing your intellect, feeding your curiosity, and allowing your Future Self to see what’s possible.
Today, consider a ritual where you learn something that sets your Future Self up for success. What does that look like?
