Rain is gearing up for high school in just a few weeks (I can’t… give me a minute…)

Ok… I’m back…

And Zak and I are gearing up for our upcoming vacation!

Life is good over here.

Also, on Monday we met up with our friends, Shawn and Anne Stevenson, to see a show at The Comedy Store – which I normally wouldn’t do.

You see, Mondays are my meeting days. And every meeting I have gets scheduled on that day – no exceptions.

I love it for batching and productivity.

And by the end of the day, I’m done with the people. You know? You know.

BUT… my girlfriend (Anne) reminded me that we have to make time for what’s important so… I did it.

And it was so much fun!

And tonight we’re headed to The Hollywood Bowl with JJ Virgin and her husband, Tim!

I am out in these streets, y’all!

Have you ever asked yourSELF these questions?

I have.

I used to think that to be successful, I needed everyone to like me and my offers.

It was exhausting trying to please everyone and constantly worrying about those who didn’t resonate with my message.

(And sooo many people didn’t resonate.)

But then, I realized that not everyone is meant to be my client.

Trying to appeal to everyone diluted my message and drained my energy.

I decided to embrace a new identity – one of someone who confidently accepts that not everyone will like me or my offers and focuses on attracting the right audience. My ideal audience.

This mindset shift was LIBERATING.

It allowed me to focus on serving those who truly value what I offer and to let go of trying to please everyone.

How can you do the same?

What if you sprinkled this identity shift throughout your day?

It could look like this:

• Morning: Start the day with an identity statement like, “I’m the kind of person who attracts my dreamiest clients all day, every day.”
• Work Hours: Engage with clients who resonate with your message and values. Let the others be.
• Evening: Reflect on the positive interactions you had with people who are your dreamy clients AND let go of any negative interactions from those who aren’t.

Now, let’s dive into the practical steps to how to attract AND polarize people with your messaging.

How to Attract Your Ideal Audience (And Repel Those Who Aren’t)

I knowwwwww… you want to help everyone.

But you can’t and you won’t so let’s just let go of that and move on, shall we?

The truth is… not everyone will like you or what you have to offer.

Shocking, I know.

To attract your ideal clients and let go of those who aren’t a good fit, you need a strategic approach that involves clear messaging and standing by your values.

Here’s how you can do it:

1. Get Clear on Who Is Right for You

Understanding your ideal client is crucial to attracting the right audience. Define who they are, what problem they want solved more than they want to breathe, and what their life will look like after their problem is solved.

2. Craft Messaging That Attracts AND Polarizes

If they’re not gonna like you anyway, let’s give them something to really not like so it’s clear where everyone stands.

Look… Your messaging should clearly communicate who you are, your values, and what you stand for.

This will attract those who resonate with your message and naturally repel those who don’t.

Use bold, clear statements that highlight your unique approach and beliefs.

You probably have lots of messaging that you use to make people like you and relate to you.

So, today, let’s create copy that polarizes.

Here’s how:

• Step 1: Identify your top 3 beliefs. You know, the hills you’ll die on.
• Step 2: Write statements that reflect these beliefs (e.g., “I believe in authentic, no-BS coaching that gets results instead of cookie cutter Instagram hooks that everyone else is using.”).
• Step 3: Integrate these statements into your marketing materials, website, and social media.
• Step 4: Consistently communicate these messages, even if it means some people will disagree. That’s what you want! This will make your die-hard fans even more so! You will be their person!

3. Let Go of Those Who Aren’t the Right Fit

It’s important to recognize when someone isn’t the right fit for your offers and let them go on about their business.

This will free up your time and energy to focus on those who truly value what you offer. AKA the people who will buy your offers.

So, the bottom line is this…

… get clear on who your ideal clients are.

… craft messaging that attracts and polarizes.

… stand by your values and beliefs.

… let go of clients who aren’t the right fit.

By embracing your future self who confidently attracts the right clients and following these practical steps, you’ll build a loyal audience that can’t wait to buy what you’re selling!
