THIS Is Why You Feel Insecure…
This weekend I hopped on a veryyyy long flight to Florida for some R&R with other female entrepreneurs and thought leaders (with a very loud, barking dog–not my dog… I’ll share this story at a later time).
But back to the getaway… Man, I needed this. We talked business, sure, but we also spent time just connecting. Relaxing. Getting massages and playing pickleball.
And we clowned around a bit, too – see the pic with me and Lisa Nichols.
Now, you might think that women who operate at this level would be pretty confident and not feel insecure, right?
I mean… we’re talking global leaders, women who are multi-millionaires, and even a couple who are close to billions! What’s NOT to be confident about?
And yet… I heard the same thing from so many of the women who came up and shared in private conversation…They didn’t feel worthy of being in the room.
I know. Wild.
But the truth is… I’ve felt that same exact way before.
You know what I mean? Have you ever felt insecure? Out of place? Like you just didn’t belong?
Here’s what I want you to know – those are just stories. Really shitty stories but stories, none-the-less.
And the great thing about stories is you can rewrite them.
That’s right. You can just stop telling one story and start telling a new one.
You gotta remember that your brain is always listening. And, it believes whatever you’re telling it.
If you’re saying, “I’m not worthy,” your brain says, “ok, got it. I’ll remember that and remind you in the future so you don’t forget either.BUT if you tell a new story, your brain will hear that story too, and get on board.
Yes, it’s that simple. Do you need to repeat the new story a few times before you believe it?Of course! Your brain and your mindset are muscles. You have to exercise them like any other muscle.
You wouldn’t go to the gym once and expect to have 6-pack abs. The same is true for your mindset.
You have to repeat the new stories that serve you and stop telling the stories that keep you stuck.
This will help you remember who the flip you are so you feel confident enough to take action and create a life so good you’re only jealous of yourself. Remember that.
Use this today to identify at least 3 stories that you tell yourself that are keeping you stuck and insecure. And then… rewrite them. Tell a new story. And every time the old one comes up, immediately rewrite it with your new one.
It takes practice, but this will change your life, your actions, and your outcomes if you choose it.
Now, there’s a large unicorn float calling my name, and after that, I’m getting a massage for good measure.
Because I’m worthy of that.
And so are you.
