Here’s A Reminder About Your Worth…
This week was a relaxing one…who doesn’t need one of those every now and then!!
It rained in Los Angeles which is rare but always welcomed, it’s my favorite kind of weather.
I hung out with Rain and Zak and played a bunch of board games and had hot chocolate. It was nice to allow myself the time and space to connect with them.
I had so much fun!
This week I took some time to really focus on what’s important to me.
Family.
Making sure they know how much they fuel and inspire me.
Being Self Made is acknowledging what gives you purpose and drive! And not letting outside factors dictate that to you.
Your worth isn’t determined by how much you do. Or don’t do.
You’re worthy just because you be.
After a long (omg so long) prior two weeks I remember this lesson. Again.
So today, remind your SELF of what truly is important to you.
What really moves the needle for you?
Take the time and space to prioritize what this is for you.
In our fast-paced and achievement-oriented world, it’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that our worth is determined solely by our accomplishments and the things we do.
We often measure our self-worth by the number of tasks we check off our to-do lists or the accolades we receive.
But here’s the truth that we sometimes forget: your worth isn’t determined by how much you do or don’t do. You are inherently worthy just as you are, and recognizing this is the key to becoming “SELF Made.”
From a young age, many of us are conditioned to believe that our worth is tied to our performance. We grow up in a society that places immense value on productivity, success, and achievement. We’re bombarded with messages that tell us we need to do more, be more, and accomplish more to be considered valuable.
This constant pressure to perform can lead to burnout, anxiety, and a sense of inadequacy. We become so focused on what we do that we forget to appreciate and accept ourselves for who we are. It’s time to break free from this cycle and embrace a healthier perspective on self-worth.
The SELF Worth Journaling Exercise
Now that you understand the essence of finding your worth, it’s essential to break the cycle of tying your self-worth to your actions. Here’s a simple exercise that can help you shift your perspective:
The Self-Worth Journaling Exercise:
- Find a quiet and comfortable place where you won’t be disturbed.
- Take a few deep breaths to center yourself and clear your mind.
- Write down the following prompts in your journal or on a piece of paper:
- “I am inherently worthy because…”
- “My worth is not determined by…”
- “I love and appreciate the fuck out of mySELF because…”
- Take your time to respond to each prompt honestly and from the heart. Write down your thoughts and feelings without judgment.
- After completing the exercise, read what you’ve written and reflect on your responses. Embrace the affirmations you’ve created about your inherent worth.
- Repeat this exercise regularly, especially when you find yourself doubting your value. Over time, you’ll reinforce the belief that your worth isn’t tied to external factors.
And remember, you don’t need to prove your worth to anyone. You are enough just as you are.
