Do THIS To Overcome Fear In Minutes
This week, Rain is with her dad (we co-parent) and I’ve had time to do some deep dives into work and enjoy alone time with Zak.
It’s been really nice but it has also brought something unexpected into my life –fear.
I’m in the process of creating some exciting new things…
Including a company that’s focused on something I have ZERO experience with (oh save me baby Jesus)
And these things are bringing in a lot of self-doubt and fear.
I’ve been asking myself questions like…
What if it doesn’t work out?
Who do you think you are to do this?
You know.
The ol’ “what if” questions.
Now, luckily I know a LOT about overcoming fear and as we all continue our path toward becoming SELF Made…
I wanted to share one of my fastest, most simple, techniques for overcoming fear in minutes with YOU!
It’s called the “From Fear to Freedom” exercise and here’s how it works…
I take out a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle.
On the left side, I write “What If (Negative Outcome)” and on the right side, I write “What If (Positive Outcome)”.
Then I list all the negative outcomes of the thing I’m feeling fear around like, “What if I fail?” down the left column.
Next, I go back and rephrase that negative outcome into a positive one in the right column.
For the negative outcome of “What if I fail?” the positive outcome might be “What if I succeed beyond my wildest dreams?”
This puts me in a possibility mindset and I get excited, leaving fear with its head spinning needing a drink.
So, as you sit down to do the work today to become SELF Made, I encourage you to try this exercise too.
