Showing Up For Yourself (Even When You Don’t Want To)
What a wild week it’s been! Between the sweltering hot weather, a torrential rain in LA, and travel…
I also dealt with some frustrating sleep issues this week. That ever happen to you?
I’m not sure what was going on but I found myself waking up through the night, having a hard time going back to sleep, and then feeling super tired the next morning.
Ugh. I have some supplements to help and have made my bedtime routine a non-negotiable and things seem to be better now. Fingers crossed!
Which leads me to this week’s topic:
Showing up – even when you REALLY don’t want to.
I can’t tell you how many times last week I wanted to sleep in, cancel meetings, push deadlines.
But I didn’t. And before we get ahead of ourselves, let me make this clear….
My physical and mental health are a bigger priority than my work, hands down.
And when I really NEED time to care for myself, I will take it.
This past week wasn’t that, so… I pushed through.
And that’s the key… showing up for yourself even when you don’t want to.
Especially when you don’t want to.
Stop letting yourself down.
You know what I mean… making promises to your SELF that you’ll do something and then not following through.
How many times have you done that?
What happens when you do is you lose trust – in your SELF.
And that’s a scary place to be.
Because when you can’t trust your SELF, who CAN you trust? So today, do an inventory.
Remember the last time you said you would do something and didn’t follow through.
Make a note of what you can do next time so that doesn’t happen. Maybe you don’t say you’ll do the thing. Maybe you schedule your time better.
Maybe you just show the fuck up and do it anyway because YOU matter to your SELF.
When you start showing up for the life you want, the life you want will show up for you.
Love you!
Cynthia
