Thanking YourSELF: The Key To Unlocking Confidence
Rain is with her dad this week (I miss her so much) so Zak and I popped out for some yummy dinners, reconnected in quiet moments at home, and played board games.
It’s the soft life I’m loving right now.
I also booked a hotel room in NYC – finally!
I’m headed there to see my friend Lisa Nichols in her Broadway debut!
I couldn’t be more proud of her! I’ll make sure to take pics to share with you!
If you have fun ideas on things to do while we’re there, do let me know!
This will be Rain’s first time in NY anddddd she lovessss Christmas so the timing is perfect for her to see the city all decked out!
What else…
The kitties are continuing to grow and explore their home and our lives.
My entire camera roll is full of cat photos and for that, I do not apologize.
Rain will be home in a few hours and we’re going to plan our family Thanksgiving.
Have you planned yours?
One thing I decided this year is that I’m not cooking. I’m having it catered.
I told you… I’m about the soft life and taking care of mySELF right now.
Now, in honor of Thanksgiving, today I have a spicy take on who you should really be thanking.
Let me know your thoughts!
Love you, bye!
Cynthia
Why You Should Be Thanking YourSELF…
Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get nearly enough credit… being thankful for yourSELF.
Think about it… we give thanks to our friends, family, mentors, the universe, Jesus, even that random stranger who held the door last week.
And sure, that’s all well and good. Do your thanking!
But let me ask you something…
When was the last time you stopped and gave thanks to yourSELF?
Because here’s the deal — you did that shit.
Every hard time you came through, every mountain you climbed, every time you wanted to throw in the towel but didn’t?
That was YOU.
You made the choice to keep going, even when life was being a stupid-as-fuck asshole.
You see… It’s way too easy to give other people the credit.
“Oh, it’s because of them that I got here”
or
“They believed in me when no one else did.”
And while that’s sweet and all (it is), the last time I checked, it was still YOU.
YOU got back up when life knocked you down.
YOU made moves.
YOU took chances.
YOU walked away from the things that weren’t good enough for you because, deep down, you knew you deserved better.
EVEN when it was hard as fuck, YOU did those things.
I see you feeling yourSELF so let’s double down on this and take a closer look at what you’ve overcome.
Think about it.
Every setback, every shit storm, every heartbreak?
You didn’t sit there and let it take you out.
No, you rose up.
You proved the naysayers, the shit-talkers, and every other motherfucking doubter dead wrong.
That’s not luck—that’s strength, grit, and sheer badassery.
YOU made the choice to show up for yourSELF.
You didn’t need anyone else to tell you to get back up because you knew you had it in you.
And every damn time you did, you got stronger. Smarter. More unstoppable.
How to Build Confidence by Giving Thanks to YourSELF
Now, here’s why this matters when it comes to chasing down those big dreams of yours…
The more you recognize what a badass you are, the more confident you become.
And confidence?
Well, that’s the key to doing the next thing and the next and the next.
It’s what keeps you moving toward every big-ass dream you’ve got on your list.
When you look back at everything you’ve overcome and truly own it, you realize there’s no mountain too high, no challenge too big, not one (no not one) problem that’s gonna hold you down.
You’ve already proven to yourself that you’re capable of handling whatever life throws at you.
And that’s powerful as fuck.
This is Your Permission to Take Credit
So, here’s my invitation to you today…
Stop giving all the credit to everyone else.
This is your permission to give thanks to yourSELF.
To celebrate every single moment where you made the choice to rise, to fight, to fucking own your life.
And yes, you can still be grateful for the people who cheered you on or helped along the way.
As my friend Anne says, if you like ‘em, I love ‘em.
But don’t you dare forget that the real MVP in all this?
It’s YOU.
Every time you got up when you wanted to stay down, every time you shut out the noise, every time you walked away from people, places, and things that weren’t good enough for you—that was all YOU.
So, let’s raise a glass to the most amazing person you know: yourSELF.
Give thanks for every bit of grit, every ounce of strength, and every single step that got you here.
Because guess what?
The journey to making your dreams come true is just getting started, and you’re more than ready for it.
Cheers to you!
You’ve got this.
Always have, always will.
