Are You Having Trouble Making REAL Change?
I’ve taken the past week off to do some soul-searching, planning, resting, and rejuvenating. And it’s been amazing.
I’ve loved late night swims with Rain and Zak, cooking family dinners, and sleeping in.
I’m realizing what I want more of in my life and what I want less of. And that’s been eye-opening!
I’m also embracing the fact that I’m on the verge of my “next next” and in order to get there, I can’t keep doing what got me here.
I have to adapt. Change. Start some things. Stop others.
I’m focusing on creating my new identity and my future SELF that will get me to the next level. I’m becoming more and more SELF Made.
The biggest concept I’m working on embodying right now is that my new life will cost me my old life.
There’s just no way around it.
You can’t change your life and stay the same person.
It doesn’t work that way.
And here’s the thing…
you let go of your old life the same way you would anything else… a job, a relationship, a loved one… you grieve.
You remember the good times, you release the bad times, and you accept the new path forward.
Most people miss this step but yet it’s crucial to finally letting go of who you used to be so you can fully embrace who you are becoming.
In fact, I had a client once who had a funeral for her old self.
Whatever works! Do you!
For today, I want you to consider the life you want to live and the new identity you will need to embrace in order to do so.
When you’re clear on that, decide how you want to grieve and say goodbye to your old self so you can move forward.
Here’s to the future you!
Cynthia
